Walt Disney World 2019 Trip Continued
After our fantastic meal at Toledo at the Coronado Springs resort, we were headed to Hollywood Studios the following day. To be honest, Hollywood Studios has become my least visited park, and I’m not quite sure why, other than that’s just how it’s worked out with trips. This was the first one in a few years where I did all four parks. So with that being said, I had yet to see Toy Story Land! Which I know at this point, was old news.
First Things First
As we walked into the park down Hollywood Boulevard, I was struck by the beautiful window displays of the new Arendelle Aqua merchandise. I had seen it in pictures, but in person it was even more stunning!
Another thing I had to do before we went further into the park, was grab my BEEN THERE Starbucks mug. I used to collect the full size, but I like them more for display and switched to the mini ones.
Walking into Toy Story Land was magical. We were met with the green army guys marching band, and it was a wonderful way to enter the world of being toy-sized. All of the details were magnificent, and I especially enjoyed the Christmas lights everywhere.
We ate at Woody’s Lunch Box, where I enjoyed the Totchos– Tater tots smothered in vegan chili, shredded cheese, queso, tomatoes, corn chips, sour cream, and green onions, as well as a GF grilled cheese sandwich. The tater tots were delicious, but the grilled cheese was just so-so. My stomach was feeling off at this point so I didn’t finish it all.
Star Wars, Spaceships, Storm Troopers, Oh my!
In addition to seeing the Toy Story area for the first time, it was also my first time seeing Galaxy’s Edge! So after eating, we were headed over to another planet.
This area of Hollywood Studios is so immersive, you forget where you are. You truly feel as if you are in a different galaxy. The details once again are incredible, as Disney doesn’t do anything half-way. One of the really fun things is Chewbacca, Rey, Vi Modari and Storm Troopers walk around, making it even more of an immersive experience.
If you are a huge Star Wars fan, which admittedly, I am not, you cannot leave Batuu without riding Smuggler’s Run, where you literally get to ride in, and have a chance to pilot! the Millenium Falcon. This ride is incredible, even to someone like me who enjoys Star Wars but is not die-hard. I was an engineer and loved it! You basically fix the ship as it is gets shot at or damaged.
Another fun thing about this day was Castle Kara was picked to be in the Indiana Jones Stunt Show! This is always a nice way to get out of the hot sun and have a sit down to take a break. It was a blast watching her participate!
We also rode Toy Story Mania, and Slinky Dog Dash–my first time! It was super fun, but I started to feel really sick to my stomach after, and unfortunately after we tried to eat dinner, it was time to leave. I was sad because we were hoping to stay for Fantasmic, but I just couldn’t stay any longer.
In Conclusion – Hollywood Studios 2019
Overall, this was a great day. Even though I got super sick at the end, and wish we could have stayed longer, I was so happy with all we accomplished. I was blown away by Toy Story Land as well as Galaxy’s Edge. Stay tuned as our journey continues…up next EPCOT and the Food and Wine Festival!
