Disney Trips Down Memory Lane

I am lucky enough to have a trip to Walt Disney World coming up the first week of October, and to say I’m excited is an understatement! But let’s talk about some important aspects of planning and experiencing a Disney World vacation.

Disney Firsts

One thing I like to do every trip, is to try to experience something new. Whether it’s a going on a ride I haven’t had time for in the past, eating at a restaurant I’ve never tried before, or maybe attending an event I have yet to attend. In the past, this has meant the Happily Ever After dessert party, the Villains After Hours event, the Food and Wine Festival, and this trip will mean Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. I cannot wait!!

Since my very first time going to Walt Disney World, back when I was just 18, visiting three out of four parks (we didn’t make it to Animal Kingdom for some reason), I have had many Disney Firsts since then. I think adding a new experience is not only easy to do, but a wonderful way to keep it exciting! There’s still so much left for me to do for the first time. Tours, and restaurants, and *gasp* still rides I haven’t ridden before!

This was my first time eating GF Mickey waffles, back in 2013!

Disney Preparations

When planning a Disney World vacation, there are so many things to consider–Where to stay, where to eat, what parks to visit, what rides to get fast passes for, etc. etc. etc! We have several resource pages that can help you with this, but start here: WHERE TO BEGIN.

But we have a basic formula for our Disney World trips: We start with the dates of when we want to go, then we figure out if we are going to stay off property, or on property, or a little of both, but more info on that here. Then we decide which parks we’ll visit and on which days, usually if it’s a long trip, for a week or more, we do all four. If it happens to be a short weekend trip, we usually pick just two. Then we always try to fit in a couple Dining Reservations at table service restaurants, some of our favorites, and some new! Then as the trip nears, we will set up our fast passes.

A couple weeks before, we start picking out our outfits and accessories, or get our nails done in Disney fashion, and set certain things aside to bring along. Sometimes, we also try to work out or go walking to get our endurance up for all the walking we will do in the parks.

Disney Treats and Eats

One of the things, I think we all can agree on, is how much we look forward to eating when we go to Disney World!

There’s nothing like enjoying a nice cold Dole Whip on a hot day, or grabbing white chocolate-covered marshmallows for a midday sugar high to make it to the end of the night! There’s drinks–LeFou’s Brew, and the Night Blossom, and snacks, and treats, and meals, that can really make a trip all that much better.

Last year was my first time trying LeFou’s Brew!

And being GF doesn’t affect it at all! Disney provides so many allergy friendly options, I never feel like I’m missing out.

This upcoming trip, we are trying several new restaurants too, that I cannot wait to write GF Reviews on!

Top Five Food and Beverages I’m most looking forward to: GF Fried fries, Dole Whips, LeFou’s Brew, Satu’li Canteen, and all the GF foods and drinks at the Food and Wine Festival, including the Mimosa Flight!

In conclusion, I am so beyond excited for my upcoming trip to Disney World, but I also can’t wait to come back here and do a Trip Report!
