Ever After Disney Dessert Party

Back in April of 2018, my sister, her family, and I decided to try the Ever After Dessert Party. I was beyond excited! Having missed out on seeing Wishes, I knew I had to make the time to see Ever After. And the dessert party was the perfect opportunity.

Being GF, however, I had some concerns about paying the hefty fee, and not knowing what kind of treats there would be for me to partake in. I did several Google searches and came up with nada. Absolutely nothing. No pictures or descriptions for anything GF that included dessert and the fireworks show. Luckily, my sister’s mother-in-law is also GF, and had attended the fireworks dessert party just a couple months prior! She said you get a plateful of GF goodies, but wasn’t very specific. Unsure if the cost would be worth it, I held out hope they would be yummy. This was Disney, after all.

Disney Dessert Parties

I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the Tomorrowland Terrace, the cast member showing us to our table told us there were a couple items already on the buffet line that were GF! There were pineapple cups–pineapple jam with a delicious whipped cream. And some chocolate-covered strawberries stamped with a gilded HAPPILY EVER AFTER. And we can’t forget the ice cream station consisting of a dish of vanilla ice cream and the option to adorn it with colorful sprinkles, a swirl of whip cream, a drizzle of chocolate syrup, or add a cherry on top.

Along with those three sweet choices, there were also a selection of cheese cubes. There was also a variety of fruit, like grapes, cantaloupe, honey dew melon, and pineapple. We thought the cheese cubes were great since we did not eat a full meal beforehand. We decided to have just a snack instead, so that we’d have plenty of room for all the yumminess. Also, seeing as it was a dessert party, everything was VERY sweet, so the cheese was a nice way to offset the sugar.

After making my decisions, I sat back down at our table. My overflowing plate was filled with orange and white blocks, a few grapes and chunks of green melon, two chocolate mounds, and two cups of delightful yellow goo. I also had my dish of ice cream with all the toppings. That’s when a director-type cast member came back with a huge platter of GF baked goods!

Slices of banana bread, four mini cupcakes, a couple chocolate chip cookies decorated the plate along with organic sour gummy bears.

I always bring ziplock baggies with me into the parks for a varying reasons (check out our TIPS page!), one of them being for leftovers! I decided to save the banana bread and chocolate chip cookies for later. Then dove into the mini cupcakes. Each one had a different colored frosting. But there only seemed to be two flavors: mint and coffee, and the cake was a little bland.

The good news is at the end, when we were ready to go take our spot on the the grass hub, we were all SO full! And when I tried the banana bread and cookies the next day, they were very delicious.

Do I think the Disney Dessert Party is worth it being GF?

Yes. It was a fun, and yummy experience. I’m glad we went at a committed time to watch the fireworks. However, for us, it was a one and done type of situation. Unless they change things up with the menu, we probably won’t do it again anytime soon.
