Flame Tree Barbecue Review

So in light of my last review on my first time to Satu’li Canteen, I thought it would be good to go ahead and do a Flame Tree Barbecue Review, as it was also my first time eating there as well!

Convenience

We had stopped at the dinosaur play land to let the boys (Castle Kara’s two, and my nephew) burn off some energy before lunch.

While we waited, we were able to peruse the My Disney Experience app, to see what we’d want to order for lunch.

Additionally, the app is great in the way of food allergies. When looking at the menu items, you scroll to the bottom and it will have the different categories. Just make sure when you’re ready to order, you are looking at your allergy specifically.

Once the boys were done playing and ready to eat, we went back into the app and placed our meal, and since it was right around the corner, we marked the “I’m here, make my order” option, right as we walked up.

If you have a food allergy, they will call your name to double check your order and make sure it’s what you wanted.

Seating, and Food Quality

After grabbing our trays, we made our way to the outdoor eating area. This is a covered pavilion but there’s no air conditioning. I believe, there were a few ceiling fans. It was a particularly hot day, and while being indoors would have been a wonderful reprieve from the heat, being in the shade was actually pretty nice.

There were condiment stations with napkins and straws. White egrets walked around looking for food. It wasn’t the most exquisite atmosphere, but for our situation it definitely sufficed.

Being GF, I ordered off the GF menu. I wanted to try a couple different items listed, so I got the barbecue sampler plate that came with ribs, pulled pork, and smoked chicken as well as sides of baked beans, and a pack of grapes. I also ordered the watermelon feta salad. It was comprised of arugula, watermelon, feta, and a vinaigrette.

The smoked chicken was amazing! The ribs and pulled pork were just okay, but when you’re from an amazing BBQ city, it’s hard to top. The salad was very refreshing and perfect for the humidity.

Overall, the seating area coupled with the great food options (especially for us with food allergies) means that I will be back to eat many more times!
