Part One
Disney isn’t known for being an inexpensive place to visit, however, we always feel it’s worth the price! (Or else we wouldn’t keep going back over and over again!)
But that doesn’t mean that everything at Disney will cost you a pretty penny. There are plenty of things you’ll be able to do for free! And we’ve got a great list of the best ones, to get you started!

Disney Resort Guests
Disney’s Magical Express is a free bus service that takes guests staying at a Disney resort to and from the Orlando International Airport. You’ll need to sign up for this a while before your trip, so make sure you’re keeping an eye on that. If you’re not feeling to certain about it, we highly recommend using a certified Disney Travel Planner to help you with your trip. They can make sure you get all these little details taken care of so you don’t miss the opportunity. We’ve got a great partner we work with when we go to Disney and we can’t recommend them enough. For more info on this, check out our Affiliate Policy.)
Magic Bands are another perk of staying On Property at a Disney resort. They will give you an option to choose from a few color choices. These will come in the mail before your trip (or you can pick them up if you schedule your trip close to your travel date) and they are free to you.
Transportation to and from the parks and also to Disney Springs is free for guests of Disney resorts. There are three options, buses, monorails, and boats. These are fun ways of getting around Disney and they are free for you to use.
When you purchase (or receive the Disney Dining Plan as part of a vacation package) you will get a Refillable Resort Mug for free!
Movies under the stars is another fun freebie that Disney resorts do. And it’s just like it sounds, the resorts have a nice area out side, where they play classic Disney movies at night. You can enjoy these for free, many nights of the week. Check your resort’s activities brochure for specific times.
The resorts will also give you the opportunity to request a wake up call from some of your favorite Disney characters! Just ask at your resorts Customer Service desk and they can give you the details.
Oh so helpful Disney Freebies
One of the most helpful freebies that the Disney resorts offer is luggage assistance. This may not sound like a lot, but for us Disney pros, it’s a BIG DEAL! This is where they’ll hold onto your bags before and after check-in/check-out. This is helpful for those times that you arrive to your resort early but don’t want to miss a minute at the parks. If you have to check out and you still want to enjoy a full day at one of the parks you can. The resort will hold onto your luggage so you can do that and not have to worry about carrying it around. They will also send your bags to other Disney resorts if you like to resort hop, like we do! Which is so great. So instead of worrying about getting our bags moved, we get to stay stress free in the parks!
There are also Cast Members (anyone who works at Disney) that will do Poolside Games to keep the littles entertained. This is a great freebie for parents who want to enjoy some quiet time by the pool. It keeps the kiddos busy so you can finish that book you’ve been dying to read. Or maybe enjoy an adult beverage or two!
Some resorts also offer fireside marshmallows. Some of these resorts are:
- Animal Kingdom,
- Bay Lake Towers,
- Beach Club Resort,
- Boardwalk Inn,
- Caribbean Beach Resort,
- Contemporary Resort,
- Coronado,
- Old Key West,
- Polynesian,
- Port Orleans,
- Saratoga Springs, and
- Wilderness Resort to name a few.
The resorts also have playgrounds that guests can utilize. These are some free down time fillers that you can take advantage of throughout your stay.
Finally, they have free package delivery. So if you purchase something in the parks and don’t want to carry it around with you all day, you can have it delivered to your Disney resort for free!
Those are some of the freebies that Disney offers to the guests staying at their resorts. Check out next week’s blog post to learn about More Freebies that you can get whether you’re staying at a Disney resort or not!
