Disney Boardwalk

So, unfortunately, there are only two times I actually ate meals at the Boardwalk, and the restaurants aren’t there anymore. However, if you’re looking for a sweet treat, never fear Ample Hills Creamery is here!

BOARDWALK ICE CREAM (formerly AMPLE HILLS CREAMERY)

Boardwalk Ice Cream is a delightful little ice cream shop that smells delicious upon entering. It’s located outside the parks on the Disney Boardwalk, between the Boardwalk Bakery and the ESPN club.

While it has some usual flavors that can be found at most ice cream parlors, such as cookies n’ cream, vanilla bean, and even strawberry, it’s the unusual flavors that really set it apart.

The following are found to be GF*:

Vanilla Bean

Dark Chocolate

Peppermint Pattie— peppermint ice cream mixed with dark chocolate flakes and house-made peppermint patties.

PB Wins the Cup— vanilla ice cream with house-made peanut butter cups and flakes of peanut butter chocolate.

Cotton Candy— (according to the page on Disney’s site, it’s all natural blue coloring, and no artificial flavors.)

Butter Pecan Brittle— dark brown sugar ice cream with chunks of house-made roasted pecan brittle.

Coffee Toffee Coffee— coffee ice cream with house-made espresso-infused chocolate covered toffee pieces. (yum!)

Strawberries and Cream

Sally Sells Seashells— (Disney’s signature flavor!) Orange marshmallow ice cream with house-made salty chocolate seashells.

Disney Springs

COOKES OF DUBLIN

This is my absolute favorite place to eat at Disney Springs!

If you ask about GF items, they say just about anything fried can be made GF, because they have a dedicated fryer.

I have tried the GF fried chicken tenders, the GF fried fish, and the GF fried onion rings. It’s all so delicious and crispy, and perfectly cooked inside. On the negative side, all the oil can be a bit heavy. And it’s all very filling, I usually have a hard time finishing it all, and end up sharing one order!

ERIN MCKENNA’S BAKERY NYC

This is a GF, vegan, and Kosher bakery located outside the parks in Disney Springs in the area called The Landing. It’s actually right around the corner from Cooke’s of Dublin, which makes it very convenient to go get a sweet treat after lunch or dinner!

They have a variety of goodies here, and having visited several times, they constantly change their options. So, it just depends on what they have when you go.

Now to be honest: I usually get a couple different things when I go here, and I would say it’s about 50/50. Half the time great, and half the time not-so-great. I know lots of people with food allergies love this place, so I don’t want to knock it, but I also don’t want you to get your hopes up that this is the be-all-end-all GF dessert stop.
